Anonymous asked: How do you get past the discomfort and awkwardness of talking to people about feelings of depression or anxiety? I feel like everything keeps getting worse, but I'm too self-conscious to say anything.

You need to save your own life, or at the very least, improve your own quality of life. You have to make the first step to do that, as no one else can do it for you. It is so important to risk embarrassment in this case, because the reward of better health and happiness is so great. Plus, I’ve found that once you open up about your own troubles, other people often open up about theirs — so you’re actually helping others by discussing your own issues.
